Healthy Living Wellness Program
MGM MIRAGE and its hotels and casinos has partnered with Matria Healthcare, a leading healthcare organization, to oversee our Healthy Living Program. This population-based health and wellness program provides employees of MGM MIRAGE and its hotels and casinos covered under the MGM MIRAGE Health Plan (PPO) or Health Plan of Nevada (HMO) with the tools and resources to better manage, maintain and improve their health and the health of their covered dependents. All Healthy Living Programs are available free of charge and regardless of health.
The Healthy Living Online Wellness Assessment (OWA)
This web-based health questionnaire can provide you with instant information about potential health risks and can guide you to other employee-sponsored programs that can help you better manage your health. Financial incentives for completing the assessment include:
- Lower Premiums
- Higher Coverage
- A Cash Reward
Wellness Floating Holidays
Employees with coverage under the MGM MIRAGE Health Plan (PPO) or Health Plan of Nevada (HMO) can receive a paid day off to get a physical exam. You must have your physician complete an authorization form to be paid for your day off.
Onsite Health Screens
Health professionals provide the following screenings to employees of MGM MIRAGE and its hotels and casinos during onsite events:
- Height Weight Measurements
- Blood Pressure Checks
- Cholesterol and Triglyceride Level Checks
- Blood Sugar Readings
- Mammograms (Through Hope Coach and Mammovan)
Phone Health Coaching
Matria Healthcare professionals can provide you with guidance and encouragement in developing healthy habits and reducing health risks. Programs include:

Condition Care (Disease Management)
PPO members and their covered dependants can receive professional assistance from Matria Healthcare to manage chronic health conditions. Programs include:
- Heart Disease

- Congestive Heart Failure
- Diabetes
- Asthma (New for 2008)
- Depression (New for 2008)
Tobacco Cessation
MGM MIRAGE and its hotels and casinos has teamed up with the American Cancer Society, Health Plan of Nevada, Matria Healthcare and the Nevada Cancer Institute to help employees quit tobacco for good with a choice of programs to best meet their needs. Program resources include:
- Free Nicotine Replacement Treatment (Patches, Gum or Lozenges)
- Self-help Materials
- Counseling
- Community Referrals
- Website Referral
- Discounted Prescriptions
10,000 Steps® Walking Program
Receive a free pedometer and online or paper tracking assistance to help you increase your daily physical activity level during this 8-week program.
Online Seminars and Web-based Programs
Brief 20-minute online seminars focus on making positive changes in your health, while interactive, online health and lifestyle programs allow you to work at your own pace to help make necessary changes. Programs include:

- Cancer Fighting
- Healthy Aging
- Smoke Free
24/7 Nurse Call Centers
You and your covered dependents have 24/7 access by telephone to registered nurses. These free services provide callers with health and nutrition information, assistance finding a physician and triage.
Wellness Challenges
Periodic Wellness Challenges can provide you with motivation in the form of friendly competition for increasing activity levels and improving nutrition.
Baby and Me (New for 2008)
This maternity program is open to all MGM MIRAGE Health Plan (PPO) members and their covered dependents. The program provides:
- Educational Materials
- Pregnancy Assessments
- 24/7 Toll-free Call Center Staffed by Maternity Nurses
- Free Coordination of Care Services for Participants with High-risk Conditions
Health Plan of Nevada (HMO) offers a similar maternity management program through its Health Education and Wellness Division.
