"MGM MIRAGE fits the professional goals I want to reach."
My essential play list:
Why MGM MIRAGE?
I heard it was a great company to work for where their employees were treated with more respect. I like how employees get praised for doing a good job. I love all the MGM MIRAGE properties and know that there are many opportunities to move up and around within the company.
Have you been mentored at MGM MIRAGE?
My manager is like my mentor. I get a lot of advice from her and she helps me whenever I need it.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Keeping employees on track and motivating them to do well.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is planning and developing something new and then implementing it. I come up with ideas that have to do with the actual job and when we go live with something, everyone sees my work.
What have you done that "they didn't teach you about in school"?
How to counsel and coach employees who may not want to listen to someone who is their daughter's age.
"If I knew then what I know now"
I would never have given a second thought to moving out here and working for MGM Grand as an intern and then as an actual worker. If I had decided not to move out here and join MGM Grand, I know I wouldn't have been nearly as successful.
What do you do for fun?
There's always something to do in Las Vegas. I like to just hang out with some friends and relax. I love going to the movies.
What surprised you about Las Vegas?
If you live and work in Vegas, its just like any other town. Yes we are a destination city, but outside of the Strip, we live normal lives that aren't as extravagant as people might think.
